Born in 1969, Tomas Rychly studied at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague. During his studies and after graduation he worked shortly as a journalist. Since 1997, he worked as a trainee, and since 2000 as an attorney in international law firms (Allen & Overy, Cliffor Chance) and in a Czech law firm (Vyskocil, Kroslak & spol.). In 2011, he has become a partner of Wolf Theiss where he specialised mainly on energy & utilities, water sector, and pharmaceutical law. He was a member of the Practice Group Projects of Wolf Theiss and he coordinated the French client initiative, which included a responsibility for developing the relationships with French law firms. He also taught the theory of law, initially from 1996 to 1998 at the Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia and later at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague.
