Jiří Palla graduated from the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague. From 1996 to 1997, he worked in the legislative department of the Chamber of Deputies. From 1997, he was a judicial candidate at the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem. After his appointment as a judge in 2000, he served as a judge at the District Court in Louny, and in 2001 he was transferred to the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem. At first, he served as a judge in the criminal appeals division, then as a judge in the administrative justice division. From October 2008 to December 2009, he was temporarily assigned to the Supreme Administrative Court. Since January of the following year, he has been a permanent judge there.
